Everyone knows how it feels to just be completely drained of energy, so tired that you can’t even muster up the energy to go out and catch that new movie, see that new show or visit the new park. These are the tell tale signs of being just overwhelmingly exhausted, which most everyone is familiar with.

What most people aren’t aware of is a lower grade energy drain that doesn’t give you the normal signs of exhaustion like aching muscles and joints, but just a general lack of interest in enjoying many of the minor activities that you normally would enjoy. You may also find it more difficult to stay focused on tasks and may be prone to frustration or are easily irritable.

If this sounds like this could be you, pay attention. We are surrounded by things that drain our energy throughout our everyday lives, some that are rather obvious and while others are unknown. The good news is that there is a work around to combat pretty much anything that is draining your energy.

Increase Magnesium Intake

This means that even if your levels of Magnesium are slightly low, it still potentially could throw off one or a few of these processes. Because of this, it is best we get our recommended daily value of Magnesium, which is 200-250milligrams on average per individual.

Magnesium supplements can be taken to meet these requirements, however Magnesium is readily found in food sources and is more easily digested and obtained from these sources. They include a wide range of various foods including almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, halibut, and whole grains.

Reduce Stress and Anxiety

Stress and anxiety are two of the biggest contributors when it comes to reduced energy levels.  Reducing stress and anxiety from some sources can be easily said than done, however there are other avenues in which we can travel for relief.

This may sound counter intuitive but picking up a hobby or participating in activities that require some physical activity may help to reduce these stressors and anxiety. If you are feeling angry or upset about something, pickup some boxing gloves and go hit a heavy bag. Need to let off some steam? Go grab a hoe and weed the garden.

There are positive ways in which you can relieve stress and anxiety that can even result in some productivity on your end. The key is finding an activity that you enjoy doing which requires some effort on your part, but also not too much effort so that you over exert yourself.

Have A Power Snack

What you are looking for is a food item or product that consists mainly of protein, with a small amount of healthy unsaturated fats and also a small amount of carbohydrates.

This will give your body the correct balance of the necessary vitamins, minerals and nutrients overall that it will need to function throughout the day. For some people, the gap in between lunch and dinner is too wide and they need something else to hold them over.

If this is you, that is perfectly fine. It is better to eat an extra snack a day if it’s going to help you stay awake and function better. If you find that you routinely are reaching for a snack because you are always hungry, you may want to adjust the portion sizes of your other meals so that you are taking in more calories.
